Dr. Tanmayee Shivaji Puntambekar is an Assistant Professor with Industrial Design Department in Symbiosis Institute of Design. With a solid academic foundation, she holds an MSc in Human Factors and Ergonomics from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune, India.

Dr. Tanmayee is practicing as a physiotherapist, Human factor specialist and Ergonomist in industry since 2011. Hence, she brings her experience to innovate teaching. Her practical experience enriches her teaching, providing students with real-world insights and applications of ergonomic principles.

Dr. Puntambekar has a strong research profile with research interests in topics such as Physical Ergonomics, Cognitive Ergonomics and perception, Ergonomics in Design, Design research, and Manual Material Handling. She has published several research papers in journals, books and conference proceedings. Apart from the research publications, She has been awarded The Young Researcher Award 2021 from Institute of Scholar for her Publication, and the Best Research Paper Award at the SYMBICON Conference 2021. Additionally, she serves as a reviewer for several journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in her field.
