Since 2004 as a founder member of SID, Prof. Prasanna has contributed to various levels in academics, especially into the Foundation Program. Taking the most authentic and traditionally rooted culture of teaching the basics in manner to reach the needs of the growing industry in design, he intellectually tries to bridge the academics and industry application to make students profile strong and productive.
From an academic base of an applied artist to the world of multimedia, the journey of Prasanna’s career illustrates various experiences and explorations, till his art finally blends into the field of design. Coming from an advertising and media background academically, Prasanna worked in the IT Industry as an Illustrator for content-based graphics. He also worked with C-DAC Multiversity for the program of DACA where he was able to apply his knowledge and skills to various avenues of Communication Design.
Prasanna firmly believes that the journey from industry to academics indeed enables one to explicitly explore and express the philosophy of design into the most practical medium following the required confined pedagogy to meet the needs of the lucrative design Industry. He finds his interest in Indian Heritage and Culture and has adopted his knowledge to the most profound Industry in Temple Art and Architecture as the Kala-Sthapati. He has an in-depth knowledge regarding this domain in Indian Art and Iconography that’s translated very efficiently to the various aspects in learning design.
At SID, he is presently involved in both the B.Des and MsDes programs of User Experience Design.
