Inter-Disciplinary Electives
The student cohort of our M. Des. programme
is typically composed of students from different UG backgrounds vis. design, engineering, architecture, fine arts etc. The elective courses offered to these students are designed to expand their horizons and integrate diverse fields of knowledge into their design practice. These electives are crafted to bridge the gap between different disciplines, fostering a holistic understanding and a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving. By engaging in these electives, students can explore subjects beyond the traditional boundaries of their core curriculum which can spark new ideas and innovative solutions that might not emerge within a single discipline. Students equip themselves with a versatile skill set, making them adaptable and competitive in a rapidly evolving job market. Working across disciplines also nurtures collaboration and communication skills, essential for successful partnerships in the professional world. Inter-disciplinary approaches to problem solving also help students develop effective and sustainable solutions. These experiences enable students to become well-rounded professionals who can navigate and contribute to a wide range of industries. This approach not only broadens their knowledge base but also instills a mindset of lifelong learning and curiosity, essential attributes for thriving in the dynamic field of design.
