Symbiosis Center for Emotional Wellbeing (SCEW)
Mental health encompasses the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of students and is an essential part of ensuring overall health and wellness. Recognizing the importance of good mental health, the Symbiosis Centre for Emotional Well-being (SCEW) was established in August 2018. SCEW aims to provide promotive, preventive, and curative mental health care services within the Symbiosis community and emphasizes a model of collaborative care.
SCEW offers evidence-based counseling services to students, staff and faculty members. SCEW counselors are trained in various therapeutic modalities ranging from cognitive therapies such as CBT, REBT and DBT to art-based interventions. This helps the counselors choose a tailor-made eclectic approach to support stakeholders through distress or crisis in addition to regular counseling sessions. SCEW also offers family therapy interventions and support groups based on the imminent needs of the stakeholders.
At present there are two SCEW Counsellors available on the Viman Nagar campus.
