The induction ceremony for the 2023- 27 batch was organised from 3rd July 2023. The Induction programme was planned across for a few days where the students and their parents were welcomed to a new chapter of their lives. Dr. Sanjeevani Ayachit- Director, SID addressed the event along with the Head of Departments, Faculty Members and SID Administration. This programme helps the new students to acclimatize to the SID ecosystem.

National Handloom Day 2023 The National Handloom Day was celebrated on 7th August 2023. The event was organised to pay an ode to the handloom sector of our country and support the Swadeshi Movement. Vibrant weaves from all over the country were displayed to understand the tradition and culture and promote handicrafts.

Kalpana 2023 Kalpana is a celebration of creativity where industry professionals, artists and creative individuals come together through moving images. Kalpana was organised on 26th August 2023. The event is filled with performances, talks, presentations & a Q&A session regarding Stop motion, Chitrakathi, Film appreciation, Animation, Photography, Illustration and Cinematography.

Lakshya 2023 As lakshya completed 10 years in 2023, we organised the annual Lakshya X event on the 15th and 16th of September 2023. The event was inaugurated by renowned artist Dr. Dhananjay Sastakar. Varied modules were conducted by expert faculties along with some cultural performances and music. The 24 hour sketchathon is the most awaited event of SID.

“Shilpkatha” is an annual craft initiative at SID with objective to bring about product diversification of heritage Indian crafts. The batch of 2021-25 researched, explored and studied various crafts of India and their projects were displayed in the Atrium area. The craft revivalists and alumni shared valuable knowledge about their contribution to the crafts industry. The craft bazaar and craft demonstrations helped to interact with the artisans from all over India. The event witnessed some special cultural performances by Shadow Puppetry artists and Dandpatta artists and SID students.

The Commemoration Ceremony of Symbiosis Golden Jubilee will be held at 01.30 pm on Sunday 6th March 2022 at the SIU Campus, Lavale, Pune. The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has kindly accepted to be the Chief Guest. The Hon'ble Prime Minister will also inaugurate the ‘Symbiosis Arogya Dham’ spread over 70 acres of land at the SIU Campus.

The annual student fest Fundamental (FDM) is being organised from 3rd to 5th March, 2022 at the SID Campus. This year's theme is Cyberverse. There is a line up of talent shows and varied events planned over the span of 3 days. Students can enjoy the Headliners and shop from the Design Store.

Typofest 2022 is an event organised to explore Calligraphy, lettering and Typography. Eminent Speakers interacted with students sharing valuable knowledge about the innovative application and implementation of Typography. This year we organised an exhibition of Lettering Prints by Gunnlaugur SE Briem, International Type Designer from Spain. We invited eminent speakers like Prof. Yashwant Pitkar, Prof.Mahendra Patel & Mr. Vinod Mahabale for a learn and interact session.

Design Showcase is the most awaited annual event at SID. The event is an amalgamation of exhibition of students' graduation projects, fashion show and awards ceremony. Eminent Industry Personalities, Industry Partners, Faculties and Students come together in a series of events like Open Day, Placement Week, Alumni Interaction and Students Interaction.

The XVIII Convocation Ceremony of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 12.00 Noon. The Convocation ceremony will be virtual. The students of SID take up acraft and explore the history associated with it. Artisans from these places alsoparticipate in this event for exhibition and demonstrations. It is a tradition we have been following at SID since 2008. You all study the diverseculture of India, varied crafts and skills set our artisans possess.

Every year Symbiosis International (Deemed University) hosts Study India program for various universities around the world. This year Symbiosis Institute of Design was part of ‘Study India Program’ for the students of Chiba University, Japan. Because of the pandemic, the program was conducted in online mode. This program saw the participation of around 90 students from Japan and 50 students from SID. This program was conducted twice in the month of August and September 2021 for different set of students from Chiba University, Japan.

The two day seminar graced by the honorary speakers , Dr. Udaya Kumar: Head of the department of Design IIT Guwahati ; Who spoke about his success story of developing our very own country Indian currency symbol (rupee) that is the noble contribution of his towards design known to the common man. He also spoke about the importance of typography within publication design. Rohan Nikam: Sr. UX Designer Extentia; Who introduced our student through his one of the project in detail. The project was researched base solution for promoting behavioral change towards food wastage in western country. Prof. Manasi Keni: Rachana Sansad College; She contributed her knowledge about poetic typography and few compositions description out of his own experience and creation.

However, this time we conducted it on the virtual platform (Zoom) considering the COVID-19 pandemic scenario.Like every year, this year too we successfully conducted "Chhap" – National Seminar on Brand Identity Design on 29th and 30th April 2021. However, this time we conducted it on the virtual platform (Zoom) considering the COVID-19 pandemic scenario.This year we primarily focused on the Brand Identity Design, Creating Brand Identity, Branding, Advertising Design, Creating Identity and Posters for Films, Web Series and TV Serials.Chhap 2021 was very well received by the students with a positive feedback.

Desipher, an international design forum for SID students to connect with design professionals from around the world. Spread across the month of October 2020, Distinguished professionals who play role models to thousands of designers were invited to provide valuable insight and to inspire the budding designers of SID.

This year the Chhap achieved new level as the dynamic speakers accepted our Invitation. The Seminar was planned on 13th of March 2020 (2days). The first 13th March 2020 we started the session at 10.00 with the informal inauguration of the seminar by the first speaker and Dr. Manohar Desai.

The presenter began the workshop with unfolding some interesting Italian Fashion history and went on to explain how the Fashion industry in Italy is embracing the culture, craft tradition and modern techniques. She also showed some works the institute is doing with industry parteners in Sustainable Fashion textiles and garments.

The fest was commenced by the display of the B. S. Bandekar College of Fine Art students, it was truly mesmerizing to see the hard work of the students of all the year. During the display students of both the institutes had interacted with each other. Then the Typofest began with the warm welcome of the Principal Mr. Dilip Anant Dhopeshwarkar to our HOD Dr. Manohar Desai along with other faculties.
