There are three prime focus areas of internships:

  • Society/Small Industry/Rural sector based projects: These is projects will cater the real life problems and will expose the students to ground level issues of the world.
  • Industrial projects: This project will be done to solve a industry scale problem where students will focus on finding a different solution for a pre-solved problem.
  • Research Projects: These is projects will allow students to work on a topic which is still being explored and does not have a defined solution to it.

During the semester breaks, students can perform internships in or outside of the University. However, during the semesters, students are advised to do the internships in the University to ease their attendance in the class and labworks.

Chemical Engineers work in a wide variety of industries with most jobs falling into one of two categories,

  • The design, manufacture, and operation of plants and equipment; and
  • The development of new or adapted substances and materials

Some common tasks include:

  • Developing and enhancing novel manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Conducting experiments in order to oversee production processes.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance and safety for processes, personnel, chemicals, and apparatus
  • Developing chemical processes-based procedures for the purpose of liquid-gas phase separation or electrical current generation.
  • Detecting and rectifying defects in manufacturing processes.

The total intake for B.Tech Chemical Engineering course is 60.

Neither Biology nor Mathematics is compulsory for B. Tech Chemical Engineering. Physics and Chemistry are compulsory subjects taken in 10+2. Third subject could be any of the following: Biology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Technical Vocational Subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Physics and Business Studies.
